Lazerquest, Star-Trek, And A Packet Of Crisps

I just got back from the second sci-fi society meeting. *grins* Well, that was true about an hour ago, but my daily net routine is getting longer and longer. Emails, blogs, livejournal, news sites. And somehow I really have to fit in an Every Single One update.

Sci-fi was good. We went to lazerquest, and I actually managed to work out who I was supposed to be shooting. In fact, I managed to perform the complicated cognitive function allowing me to distinguish between green and red so well that I acheived the highest score on my team during the second round. It sounds geeky. It is geeky. I loved it. Perfected by the mixture of star wars and star-trek music playing in the background. At least I didn't end up on the dance machine afterwards.

What was slightly alarming was when we all moved into the bar so that we could go on the star-trek trivia game. Now I don't really know my star-trek that well, so I pretty much took a backseat for this activity. Meaning that I went to the bar to buy a pack of salt and vinegar crisps, ate someone else's chocolate eclairs, and wrote some dates in my diary. They didn't actually do very well. Didn't even get on the highest scores board. But I think this really means very little, as every single person on that board was a part of the group that I was with.

Farscape screenings start on friday, to be followed the week after by a viewing of Donnie Darko, which I still haven't seen despite having been told a lot about it. I also found a sci-fi someone that is also going to the press-screening of In America on thursday. Mwahahaha, there is also to be a Q&A session with the director, Jim Sheridan. Now I don't know much about this guy, but I do know he made In The Name Of The Father, which I have found to be truly memorable. It was quite a few years ago that I watched it, but the opening guitar-misinterpreted-as-sniper sequence on the roofs, the drugs disguised as a jigsaw puzzle, and the final leaving the courtroom sequence come to mind. Also, I think I'm right in saying that this was based on the story of the Guildford Four, and my mum organised a party the night that all happened, which was their original alibi. Not that that gets a mention in the movie, of course. Damnit, I really want to see it again now.

It's one in the morning and I have to get up tomorrow. Every Single One can look after itself until then. Wait, today is tomorrow is... Well it's a stupid hour of the clock and I'm tired and hungry. Goodnight.
