Refridgerator Gremlin
- The Action Figure Story Book finally finished RotK.
- His Dark Materials has been adapted for stage and opens december 4th. Desperately want to go see this. Need to find someone to drag along with me.
- Someone's been drinking my orange juice. I thought I was the only one that liked the stuff with juicy bits in. Apparently not. The concept of a refridgerator gremlin has been suggested.
- "Chopping Nemo". Warning. Disturbing.
- Remember I ranted about how amazing Keisha Castle Hughes was in Whale Rider? Just found out she's also in Star Wars: Episode 3 as a Regal Leader. Which I'm thinking is thinly veiled cryptic for Queen of the Naboo.
- Spike Jonze has been hired to work on the movie adaptation of Where The Wild Things Are. I was fascinated by this story as a child, but also fairly terrified by it. Looking forward to a movie interpretation.
- Some people are just so obsessed. *shakes head disparaginglyl* Some rock climbers give an assessment of what kind of rock climber Gollum would be. Turns out he's really not so comfortable with that much rock climbing, being more of a pot-holer.
- Also, doesn't look like we'll be getting Eddie Izzard in the new Doctor Who after all. Posted by Missiedith at November 5, 2003 1:21 PM
Drag me! Drag me!
Also, I believe Labyrinth was based on Where The Wild Things Are (tell me you've seen it - I can't remember whether you have or not)
Posted by: Cathy at November 5, 2003 8:41 PMI haven't. But you're not the first person to tell me that I absolutely have to, and I spied it on the dvd shelf of my housemate, so hopefully I'll be able to remedy the situation at some point in the near future.
Posted by: Missiedith at November 6, 2003 1:23 PMMe too! Take me! Though I was looking up the prices and it does look quite a bit for seeing both plays.
Posted by: Celia at November 7, 2003 11:05 AMThis... could be interesting. I mentioned it to another friend over the phone, and he wants to come too. So that's three of my closest friends, none of whom have ever spent a significant amount of time in each other's company. But yay that people want to come with me. Sometime after xmas is what I was thinking.
Posted by: Missiedith at November 7, 2003 11:09 AMOkay, just warn me about it if it's not a weekend (well, actually, if it is a weekend as well) cause I'll have to take time off work.
Christmas could be a new and painful experience for me, because I haven't quite got the hang of taking days off work yet. I have 22 days' leave allocated, and haven't used any yet. What we do have is something called Flexi-time, which means that you work 148 hours every four weeks (at 37 hours a week, which is your basic 9-5.30 with one hour lunch, with an extra half an hour off a week - go home early on Fridays) however you like. You get to save up hours and you can take off up to a day and a half per month on Flexi-time without using any leave.
So far I've done one Flexiday, and still felt rebellious because it was a Wednesday! And I was off work!
I really need to work on this. And also try not to use your comments box as a guest blog... it's not as if my own blog is overspilling with entries...
