Revolutions. You Know Which.

You are Trinity, from "The Matrix."
Strong, beautiful- you epitomize the ultimate heroine.
What Matrix Persona Are You?brought to you by Quizilla
Everyone's talking about it, I went to see it last night, I am gleeful, I am also unoriginal, I am therefore also talking about it.
I really liked it. It was so much better than Reloaded. I mean, yes, there were some truly awful moments, and Keanu Reeves does produce some completely dior acting, but I think as a whole it worked. The first scene with him in had me really worried, because the acting was that wooden, and the dialogue so incredibly stilted, but fortunately that lessened as the movie progressed. A bit. I was in hysterical laughter, actually, at some really inappropriate moments.
I felt it was very much a comic-book movie. The effects, the setting, the characters, and not forgetting the storyline all screamed sci-fi comic book at me. I think this is why it was so much better than Reloaded. The original Matrix was very much based in the matrix, and that worked, but Reloaded moved away from that without quite acheiving full separation. Revolutions seemed to have a much better sense of separate style and identity, and felt far less bitty.
I still have issues. As one of the friends I went to see it with put it, you felt like they were hitting you over the head with a brick labelled "symbolism". There was absolutely no sense of subtlety. And it took me a while to get used to the idea of Neo being truly messianic rather than just a freaky minded programmer that messed with the reality of the matrix. But once I got my head around that it was good.
Harry Enfield once described the plotline to every piece of opera ever created as "Sings again, dies again, sings again, dies again, sings again..." This can be adapted for The Matrix Trilogy as "Fights again, dies again, fights again, dies again, fights again..." Nothing much new there.
Just need to rec this to you: The Deleted Scenes by londonmark are so pointed it's hilarious.
I'm definitely going to go see it again. Soon. It felt really iconic, with all the good and bad stuff that comes with that label. If you like this sort of movie, it's brilliant. It does some really original stuff, and has certain shots that make you sit up and pay attention as you'd expect. But if you're not really into this genre you'll probably hate it.
Last comment. How completely briliant is this? WB took over times sq with the green digital rain stuff! That's just... wow. I wish I'd been there.
Oh, and "Everything that has a beginning has an end"? Really, not so much. Take this blog entry, for instance. It's bitty, and rambling, and is firmly resisting all efforts to just damn end. So... "Everything that has a beginning has an end apart from this blog entry, and the Matrix trilogy."
