Back In Cardiff, With Grapes
I am back in Cardiff, I have uninterruptible internet connection, and, most importantly, I have a fan heater for my room.
Oh, and a new grape addiction. That's new. I've never had one of those before. Green seedless grapes, fresh from tescos. The bag informs me that they're actually white seedless grapes, but I'm studiously ignoring this inaccurate observation of the exceptionally snackable fruit's colour. The bag also politely requests that I "keep refrigerated." That's not going to happen any time soon, as my shelf of the fridge is taken up with orange juice, cheese and a value pack of mullerices. There's also a polite suggestion that I wash the grapes before eating, and I suppose I really should. I just cannot be bothered, and I'm sure my immune system should be able to handle whatever bugs and chemicals it is that I'm currently bombarding it with.
I think it's really a rather daft bag in which to place grapes, and on the basis that it couldn't even get the colour right I am henceforth ignoring everything else printed upon it.
So yeah. I'm back in Cardiff. I'm sitting on my bare mattress blogging and eating grapes. I was going to make up the bed, and then I realised that I packed the sheets at the very bottom of my suitcase. There's a lot of clothes in that suitcase, which I really can't face right now, so I've decided it'll have to wait.
I'm actually about to go out drinking, so the making of the bed could potentially turn into rather an interesting exercise. I've had one cheese twist and one vegetable lattice pastry to eat all day, along with some grapes. Excessive alcohol might possibly be a particularly ill-advised venture, and yet I'm feeling the need to make up for a month of relative sobriety. You know, if I ignore Christmas, and New Years, and general family meals, I've hardly drunk at all during the last month. I wouldn't be surprised if I get back at some ungodly hour of the morning, however, and decide that sleeping on the floor fully clothed is really the best option.
I just hope I don't decide to add an extra blog entry first. I read a guide somewhere online, I've forgotten where exactly, on blogging, and one of the first tips was not to write anything whilst inebriated.
Oh. Oh, dear.

I think the idea of washing certain fruits is more literally about bugs than most people like to think about. All kinds of creepy crawlies like living/laying eggs in nooks and cranies. Enjoy ;-)
Posted by: Kevin at January 6, 2004 1:24 PMI don't drink white wine at all because I'm strictly a red wine girl. You may drink white wine because if you examine the colour of the wine, oh, wow, would you look at that, it actually happens to be white. Or translucent. Effectively it's white.
And the bugs... pffft, just another source of protein. Having shopped and eaten in various 2nd and 3rd world countries I find very little over here to phase me.
*cough*
I'm such a bullshitter. Just went to rinse them.
