Absent Without Sanity

You see, from here it rather looks like I haven't been writing. Whilst this still leaves me considerably ahead of Cathy, I thought I ought to jot at least something down in order to avoid any vague sense of hypocrisy I could possibly feel for having gently pointed out the sparsity of her entries of late.

So, I have been writing. I just haven't been writing blog entries.

I've been writing at lotr_speakeasy (not posted yet) and also working on my remix. And I know I'm probably not supposed to talk about either, but my remix in particular is like nothing I've ever done before and I'm simultaneously terrified and thrilled with how it's working out. Tigging is also going amazingly. I'm not sure if I mentioned it before here, but I was initially slightly intimidated (translate: scared shitless) at the prospect of writing with some of these people. But I'm in the process of winding up a tig with possibly one of my favourite online writers of them all, and I've loved every second of it.

Actually, I probably would have written here sooner if it hadn't been for Borderlines by Vshendria consuming my entire life for roughly an entire day. Like, an entire non-stop day, I forgot to eat and sleep again. Apparently my obsession with mentally disturbed characters extends to reading them as well as writing them, and the clarity of that realisation is something new. The version of Casey here is really a very dark and serious potential version of Frodo from Bagenders. It's very good, it's very long, and if you've got the time you should go read it. And it's getting mentioned here rather than just in the sidebar because. The. Damn. Thing. Ate. My. Life. (And I'm now pulling out my hair waiting for updates.)

And panicking because Bagenders seems to be offline. Hence the lack of link.

Other new things that I've done. I ended up websurfing an online dictionary. You know that strange thing you do when you're feeling entertained online, just clicking on links that catch your interest, hopping from site to site. Well that's what I did over at OneLook for a bit last night... last day... day before... I'm all insomnia date-addled, let's just say it was recently. Anyway, it was like general websurfing, except I stayed mainly on that site, and just flicked from word to word using the list of similes for each. Except of course because it's a robot operated site, half the words had nothing to do with each other at all. Surprisingly entertaining, learnt lots of new words, most of which I have already forgotten.

Yeah, I had this big list of things to write about here, and then I did that sleepless thing and forgot most of them.

And I've read stranger things, so it's really not that weird to read a dictionary. Dictionaries of Quotations are good, as are Encyclopedias occasionally. I've had some brilliant times with the Yellow Pages, and I made it all the way up to letter E in a medical handbook once. My step-father used to read aeroplane timetable books, just page after page of tables of numbers; I'm really not that weird.

So. Um. Resuming normal broadcasting any day now, I'm sure.
