Into The West
So the other day I was mucking about in my room, trying to do a lil bit of work on Remix Attempt #1.
(Not to be confused with Remix Attempt #2, which was sent in on time. Those people holding the whole thing up? I'm not one of them. Work on #1 is, however, temporarily suspended. I decided to give myself a bit of a break, and plan to resume when everybody else's go live.)
I was sitting around, I was a bit fed up, I helped myself to a bit of slacker time. I thought, I know, I'll write out the lyrics to Into The West in my diary. And then I saw this postcard amidst the random junk that litters my floor and I thought, that looks Into The West-ish, I'll stick that in there and write the lyrics next to it.
The next thing I knew I had a mini art project on my hands. I really wish things would stop turning into projects on me.
Then today, I got up especially early to go to a sci-fi collectors' fair. Very disappointing, it was cancelled. So I walked back with friends that I met coming out of the fair, and for some reason we walked in completely the wrong direction, ending up in Toys 'R Us. Then I observed that a scanner would only put me back £40, and I decided I must have one, then and there.
Actually I came to my senses, and decided to restrain myself. I headed off to Dixons, and instead bought a semi-decent one for £60, right then and there. (I later called my mum and, wonder that she is, she agreed to pay for it as a birthday present. Thanks mum.)
Much fun ensued, lots of sketches to come, here is Into The West.

Posted by: theanitmodel at April 19, 2004 6:35 AMThankyou! The rest of my journal... is mainly made up of ticket stubs and angst. I'll have a poke at it and see what I find, but there's definitely more sketchbook work on the way.
I'm having so much fun with this scanner.
