Those Blogs Wot I Read
A general update and review of the list.
Removed
- Bloggerheads - For it has closed down. In all honestly, I stopped reading before then anyway, because there was no RSS. For a long time this site prompted me to much activity, and there are still certain things I have planned that are almost entirely thanks to it. I've lived off it.
- Caveat Lector - As much as I like the writing on this blog, a lot of the topics (libraries, tech) I cannot manage to find time to be interested in. I always greatly enjoyed other content, but I'm trying to be ruthless with this list.
- D4D - I seriously love this blog, but I cannot find the RSS feed. Currently living off bloglines, my brain is too colander like to remember to check sites each day.
- Eschaton - there's just too much there! I seriously could not keep up with this blog, writing faster than I could read, backlogs of over 200 posts, and I dread to think how few days that's over... Could. Not. Cope.
- fin.ger.print - No RSS feed. You're on LJ now anyway.
- Place Of Melodramatic Ramblings - Most stuff ends up on LJ too, it's easier to catch you there.
- Smacky - No RSS feed, and another LJ double.
Relocated
- Troubled HYPHEN Diva - Otherwise known as that blog that I said I wouldn't end up mentioning again. Troubled Diva disappeared due to whatever problems, but is now back with a flash new HYPHEN. Just so as you know.
So that's the messy bit over with. The new fun rearranging part. "Reading Friends" is done away with seeing as there's now hardly anybody on that list.
Reading Blogs
- Aquarionics - ...
- beautiful monsters - All that writing made it seem like I was going to comment on each blog mentioned, didn't it?
- bentbacktulips - Ha ha.
- blackfaith's - Not bloody likely.
- china shop - I love you all, but no.
- fuddland - Just, no.
- green fairy - I'm sure I could think of something nice to say about each of these.
- Intergalactic - But I'd like to get some sleep sometime...
- Kevin's Home - ...Sometime before...
- londonmark - Before breakfast?
- mad musings of me - Before the second sundown?
- Neil Gaiman - Before we all get eaten by giant squid?
- plasticbag.org - Did you notice that I don't have a clue what I'm writing yet?
- Scaryduck - Yeah, figured as much.
- Troubled HYPHEN Diva - I just can't get a thing past...
- Wherever You Are - ... The voices in my head. Must stop talking/writing to them.
And a new one...
- guts and garters - Writing friend, momma of the RPG. Also, general amusement.
There are quite a few others I'm in the middle of getting into, most notably the infamous Belle De Jour, but I'm going to wait a while before putting them up so as to avoid embarassment if I should eventually feel the need to take them down.
Reading Politics
So I suppose I should probably explain myself. I don't keep up with all of the blogs on this final list on a daily basis. There are quite a few with a seriously heavy volume of content, and my head just isn't up to working through it all every single day. Some of these I do make the effort for, but not all. Most I just drop in on if I'm feeling in the mood.
- The Dead Parrot Society - Cue more innocuous comments?
- Harry's Place - I'm really quite exhausted.
- normblog - I'm not sure I can be bothered.
- Socialism in an Age of Waiting - I'll just shut up for a bit then.
- Tom Watson - Right.
So, the new ones:
- British Spin - ...
- Downing Street Says - Don't you pay attention?
- Political Times - I said I was shutting up.
- Stephen Pollard - Collapsed now.
Again, there are a lot more that I'm experimenting with than that, but those are the only ones I'm confident with. As a record, for myself, I suppose. And because I'm getting tired of digging up these sites via various other people whenever I want to visit them. (Bookmarking being beyond my capabilities, of course.)
It seemed like I had a lot more to add when I started this entry. I've been meaning to write it for a while. I've just realised a whole load of stuff I've forgotten. I'm going to fall off my chair if I try to stay awake much longer.
... But I really do have to mention this hilarious side by side comparison of LotR and Harry Potter.
Posted by Missiedith at June 30, 2004 7:51 AM | TrackBackWell, you'll be pleased to know I've just stuck an RSS feed up - see, I do pay attention to my readers. *Grin*
The feed is at http://www.dummies-for-destruction.co.uk/rss/atom.xml - if that makes any sense. Hope so.
